What is Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT)?

Supraventricular tachycardia is a kind of heart rhythm disorder which is characterized by rapid, abnormal heart beats. This disorder has its origins in the atria, which constitute the upper chambers of the heart. The beating of the heart is so fast that the heart muscle and chambers cannot relax and contract satisfactorily, and does not allow for proper flow of blood and oxygen to the brain.
